Sony's Xperia phones remain unaffected by the recent partnership with TCL, as confirmed by Sony's CFO, Lin Tao. The Xperia 1 VIII and Xperia 10 VIII models have been spotted in the GSMA IMEI database, indicating their upcoming release. These devices will succeed the Xperia 1 VII and Xperia 10 VII, which launched in June and September last year, respectively. The Xperia 1 VIII is expected to be a flagship model with model names XQ-GE44, XQ-GE54, and XQ-GE74, while the 10-series mid-ranger will have XQ-GH44, XQ-GH54, and XQ-GH74. The Xperia 5 series, however, will continue to be absent, with the last model being the Xperia 5 V from September 2023. The phones are expected to have a single nano-SIM slot and an eSIM, and their release date is uncertain, as Sony typically launches new phones on an ad-hoc basis.
