Bold headline: Returning home, David Roddy steps back onto Colorado hardwood with the Nuggets.
But here’s the twist you’ll want to follow: a former Colorado State standout is coming off a two-way deal to join the Denver Nuggets, marking a fresh chapter in his professional journey. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on March 4 that the signing brings Roddy back to the state he once dominated at CSU. He’s transitioning from Raptors 905, the G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, to Denver’s roster depth chart.
At 6-foot-5, Roddy is a four-year veteran who originally entered the NBA as a first-round pick in 2022. During his college days, he earned Mountain West Player of the Year honors for the Rams and has since logged NBA experience with five different organizations.
In the G League, Roddy has been productive, averaging 14.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game with Raptors 905. His recent national team exposure came with Team USA in World Cup Qualifiers, where in two appearances he posted 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, shooting an efficient 75% from the floor and 70% from three-point range in roughly 19 minutes per outing.
Across his NBA career, Roddy has appeared in 168 games, averaging 6.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
